PAYING A TICKET BY WAIVER

WAIVER REQUIREMENTS NONWAIVERABLE VIOLATIONS LIST OF COSTS PAYMENT CHOICES
WAIVER REQUIREMENTS
In order to pay a citation by waiver, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have one of the waiverable offenses listed below.
- Have no more than one prior moving violation within the past 12 months.
- Enter a plea of guilty which is a complete admission of guilt to the citation.
- Read the ticket carefully. Sign the reverse side of the citation, and return it with payment.
- Have total waiver payment to the Court before assigned court date.
VIOLATIONS WHICH ARE NOT WAIVERABLE
The following citations may not be paid by waiver and therefore require a personal appearance in Court:
- Third moving traffic offense within the past 12 months.
- Operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Leaving the scene of an accident.
- Driving with no license or a suspended license.
- Fleeing or eluding a police officer.
- Drag racing.
- Passing a stopped school bus.
- Any felony or indictable offense.
- Driving with license expired more than 6 months.
- Any violation where the officer marked the citation “personal appearance required”.

CALCULATING OTHER COSTS
- If you have received one other citation in the past 12 months, there is an additional fine of $25.00.
- If you have received two other citations in the past 24 months, there is an additional fine of $50.00.
- If two or more offenses are listed on a single ticket, please call the Court for the total waiver amount.
